The Bird Tree piece starts out with blue and burnt sienna brown as its basic colors. These colors will carry throughout into the finished art.
The birds look disturbing to me without the eyes, which are often a point of focus for me as I look at my work.
Below the piece with glass eyes and brass tacks. Much better but more to be done.
I often know what still needs to be worked on by the feeling that something just isn't quite right. Zoom in to a close up view of the top right bird. That leaf just shouldn't be there. It's too big and it distracts me from seeing the full shape of the bird. I'm going to have to take care of that. Stay tuned to the next blog posting where I will show you how I solve the problem.
