After painting on three crows, I decided it worked well and that six new crows would work even better. So I committed to the idea by carving the crows into the painted circle area. Below you see them carved into the wood. Where I've carved you see raw wood and where I haven't you can still see the background paint.This close up picture makes it easy to see other carved details even where the picture is already painted.
Yes, sometimes the detail needed becomes clear as I work on the piece. I don't stop until it feels finished to me... Thanks for your comment Chaya!
