This is so much better - adding the tree trunks, darks in the greens and working more on the monkey and the tree.
Every time I begin to paint I'm excited. But I also worry I won't pick the right colors. Then somewhere toward the middle or the end of the process there comes a tipping point where I relax because I know the colors I've chosen will work. I think I've reached this point in the Belize commission.
Each day that I paint, I try to stop at a point where I know what I want to do next to improve the picture. This allows me to come back the next day with a sense of excitement rather than of nervousness. Nervousness, excitement - they're in the same family. But I find an excitement to work more fun.
It seems so silly to get nervous about the painting stage when in the end I always make it work out, but that's what happens for me every time.
Do any artists out there know what I am talking about?
