Here's another link back to the most recent entry of Beverly Kaye's blog. In it she features a picture of a recently completed piece of my carved and painted folk art: "Sailboats, Round Sky". I carved this piece way back in Spring 2009 but didn't get to painting it until late fall 2009. This sailing art work was inspired by seeing the Cornell sail boat team do their practices out on Cayuga Lake in the late fall of 2008.
Below is a photo of the sailing practice maneuvers by the Cornell sail team that inspired the above piece of artwork:
Going back to Beverly Kaye... thanks, Beverly, I'm taken aback by all the nice things you had to say about my work in your blog.
Beverly writes about "Uncommon discoveries for sale, including Outsider, Artbrut, and
Self-taught art. Oddities, unforgettables, collage, constructions,
paintings, and things that go bump in the night, side by side with
anything else that catches my fancy." It makes for interesting reading.
I'm still waiting to hear back from the rest of you, anyone else know
of any good folk art, visionary, outsider, art brut self taught,
primitive or naive art blogs so I can share them with everybody else?
